MY HAIR JOURNEY AND WHAT I'VE BEEN USING TO GET MY HAIR TO GROW

If you’ve followed me for a while you know that I’ve talked about a horrible experience during a collaboration several years ago. This was, and still is a very prominent salon in the Gold Coast area right next to Vera Wang. Without naming names, which technically I don’t know why I’m being so secretive. This did happened and it ruined several future campaigns for me. Furthermore the salon never took responsibility nor did the owner ever apologize to what had happened. Today I’m going to share the entire story with you and also show you how I got my hair to it’s healthy state back. Disclaimer… this wasn’t easy and took almost three years to get here.

A big part of my jobs is my looks, and hair is a major aspect of that. I have never had extensions in the past and have been blessed with thick, full, textured, resilient hair. I’ve actually had my hair thinned majority of my life because I had too much of it.

Several years I was asked to do a big collaboration with this particular salon. It is a very known place and I figured, of course. Would love to see what magic these colorists can create. Long story short, the girl that was appointed to me clearly had no idea what she was doing and how to bleach a “NON NATURAL” blonde. Within an hour my hair was breaking and falling out in chunks. Once I felt my scalp being burned I knew this was a big mistake… and I’m still paying for it.

The first is the image of how I came into the salon. No extensions, full, healthy hair. This is the evening after I got home. Uneven color, tons of breakage, bald spots and missing hair follicles. It was a disaster. I cried and completely freaked out. I realize this is just hair, but it was my hair, and it was beautiful. I always loved my wild, big, lions mane and it was all burned off and gone. I even contemplated cutting it all off.

Over the next three years I spent chopping my hair, wearing hats, head bands, and halo hair extensions to hide all the breakage and damage. All while taking major care of it. Regular trims, (trimming your hair actually helps it grow). Taking daily supplements, brushing it before bed to help with scalp stimulations, using scrubs twice a week to also help with scalp. Also PRP treatments and using serums and damage care shampoos. Below is a full list of all the items I’ve used to get my hair back to it’s natural state… the photos above is my hair today! I also loved and still love having the hand tie extensions in. They don’t damage your hair and if anything it has helped my hair grow. I find myself styling my hair less and only using heat products on the extensions part and not my actual tresses.

Losting hair sucks! Age, COVID, (I’ve had so many girlfriends lose hair post COVID), pregnancy, hormones and so much more. There are so many reasons why your hair falls out, breaks, etc. I found that all these products helped so much and I used them all as directed. I hope this helps anyone struggling with hair loss or breakage.
