Now that I’ve shared our fun reading/homework nook I created with The RoomPlace in the loft portion of our house. It’s time to reveal our bedroom… aka ‘Adult Escape’!

Oh yeah…. this has been a long awaited project. Our bedroom is quite large and I decided to paint it a very rich navy blue with lots of moldings. However, our furniture was also pretty dark with the exception of a sofa and our bed. The rest of the pieces seemed to disappear. I knew we needed to get the ball rolling on new furnishings. When The RoomPlace reached out and wanted to provide the furniture and accessories for my husband and I to create a “getaway” space in our bedroom, we were so… IN!

My concept for a bedroom is always the same… make it like the most lavish hotel suite you’ve ever imagined! Think about it… When you stay at an incredible suite you never want to leave. There are always different nooks and seating areas, not just a bed.

Confession, prior to this change, our bedroom was the least favorite room in our house. Dark, boring, and empty. We literally slept there and got the heck out. However, now that The RoomPlace spruced up our bedroom with the most gorgeous dressers and coffee table by Michael Amini. Side note: (Check out his exclusive collection, it’s insanity! The dresser is also fully lined with velvet, has silent self closures, and a secret jewelry drawer.) We honestly have been hanging out in the bedroom. I have even had girls over and we chill here. It’s become the most beautiful room in our entire home!

We also added  this Elisa 62″ Bed Bench, two Griffin Suede Swivel Chairs, that come in grey and ivory as well. I opted for the navy because I imagined them popping agains the white panels and sheers on the windows. We finished off the look with two Diamond End Tables and a gorgeous marble area rug. This rug couldn’t have matched our bedroom more perfectly. It pulled in the whites and the ivories from the furniture, the blues on the walls and the grey on the floors. PERFECTION!

I hope you’ve enjoyed my bedroom tour and the amazing before and after transformation! Thank you again to The RoomPlace for making my vision come to life. I have to tell you, The RoomPlace is the best place to go in Chicago for affordable, stylish furniture pieces no matter what your personal home decor style may be — they really do have it all!
